Day 306 Antique Roadshow Experience!! (TV Show)

Exercise: None. Visiting parents in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Antique Roadshow Story...
You've most likely stumbled upon the antique roadshow while thumbing through channels on t.v. and have found yourself sucked into watching a few minutes of it if you have nothing better to do. You wonder, "Where do these people come from?" Right? Imagine my surprise when Vince told me he won tickets to the show. You get tickets from a lottery system. This year the show traveled to 6 different cities in America and will produce 3 of their shows from them. The shows will be scene beginning January 2013 during their new season. No specific dates given.

The Experience...
Vince loaded his large antique buffet table on his truck along with 3 other items we acquired from his parents home in PA and we headed from Houston to Corpus. The next day we unloaded everything at the American Bank Center for the big event.

Early to mid 1800s piece.

We entered the convention center filled with excitement! Cameras, television, people pushing unique antiques everywhere. We began taking pics before we entered the room with the never ending lines.

Everyone was sent to one large room. We stood in several lines waiting to get categorized. I was filmed while showing my antique jug at the table. I assume it was just a t.v. station. Forgot to watch the news that night.

From this long line, we moved into the main event area. We were forced to turn off our cell phones so we have no more photos!   : (
In the event area you move to your designated areas. Vince and I opted to stay together so we stood in 4 different lines, which took us 4 hours. It was fun to talk with people around us and hear the stories of antiques. Vince was having fun telling everyone about our antiques.

There are different appraisers depending on what type of category your antique fits in. You get an appraisal, but you don't sell your items. After the event you can be recorded telling about your experience and have a chance to be on television sometime next year so we did that as well. Fun times!

At the Bayfront
My dad gave us his "Press Pass" so we were able to park in the press area close to the event. Thanks Pops!
