Day 281 Road Trip: Vince's parent's Coal Stove!

Exercise: Vince and I power walked up lots of inclines in Pennsylvania today. Walked about an hour.

Our walk today was great! It really takes my breath away trying to walk up the hill etc. Vince just runs up. I think he is showing off! Forgot to take my camera today! On our walk we stumbled upon a small gravesite with about 4 headstones. The man who lived across the street told us that one was the headstone of the first African American that was killed in the Civil War. This place is so full of History. I learn so many new things daily.

Hows this for a stove? This is in Vince's parent's kitchen. It is a coal stove used back in the day. The very top is a warmer, then you have the oven underneath it. The burners are on the flat area and the coal goes in the bottom section. The ashes then fall down into the basement.

Stove in use.
This is the stove the family uses now. It is 60 years old! Under the burner in the left is a large boiler where you heat water. It has push buttons as well on the top.

Breakfast

Lunch/Dinner

Snack
At Vince's parent's home they have 2 big meals and that's it. A large breakfast which may take hours. The routine is to sit and graze on lots of different foods and sit and talk for a couple hours. We tend to finish around 11ish. Then Vince and I go for our walk. Come back and shower and maybe help with the lunch/dinner if we can. Lunch/Dinner is between 3pm-4pm. That is it. You grab fruits or whatever else you want after that.

Vince's mom made us chocolate glutten free brownies today. I had my share of more than a few! Rats!!
